Kadhai Paneer is made by cooking paneer in a rich and creamy onion capsicum tomato gravy. Its thick creamy texture comes from the addition of Malai or Whipping Cream.

Ingredients For Kadhai Paneer Recipe
- 250 gm Paneer/ Indian Cottage Cheese
- 1 Onion, Diced
- 1/2 Capsicum, Diced
- 2 Tomatoes, Pureed
- 1 Cup Malai/Whipping Cream
- 1 Teaspoon Jeera/ Cumin Seeds
- 1+1/2 Teaspoon Dhaniya/Corriander Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Haldi/ Turmeric Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Salt, or to taste
- Oil for Cooking
Step By Step Instructions With Photos For Kadhai Paneer Recipe
Gather all the ingredients. Dice the onions & capsicum and make a puree of the tomatoes. Dice the Paneer into small cubes.
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. When the cumin seeds start crackling add diced onions and cook them for 1-2 minutes till they become soft and golden brown. Then add diced capsicum. Add pureed tomato and saute the gravy.
When the vegetables are cooked, add Turmeric Powder, Coriander Powder, Red Chilli Powder and Salt and mix all the spices.
Add Malai or Whipping Cream to the gravy. You can also substitute Malai with Milk if it is not readily available at your home. Curd can also be used in its place.
Add the Paneer Cubes to the gravy. Cover the pan to soften the paneer cubes and cook for 5 minutes.
Paneer Capsicum Masala is ready. Serve it hot with roti/paratha or rice.
