  • 4 Tablespoon Ghee
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Green Cardamom Powder (Hari Elaichi Powder)

  • Wash, peel and grate the carrots using a hand grater. You should use tender and juicy carrots for making this halwa, as they are easier to grate. You can also use a food processor to shred the carrots.

  • Add milk in a kadai or pan and bring it to a boil.

  • The milk will start to thicken as it evaporates.

  • Turn the flame to a low to medium setting. Add the grated carrots to the milk.

  • Keep stirring this mixture often. The milk will slowly begin to froth & dry. Keep scraping the sides to add any evaporated milk solids to the mixture.

  • When the milk has almost dried out, add ghee and roast the mixture in it.

  • Add sugar and cardamom powder. Keep stirring till the mixture thickens.
