  • 2 Tablespoons Whole Wheat Flour (Gehun ka Atta)

  • 1/8 Teaspoon Heeng (Asafoetida)
  • 1 Teaspoon Coriander Powder (Dhaniya Powder)
  • 1 Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 2 Tablespoons Tamarind Powder (Imli)
  • 1 Teaspoon Dried Mint Powder (Pudina)
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Saunf (Fennel Seeds)
  • 1 Tablespoon Cooking Oil

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds (jeera) and asafoetida (heeng).

  2. When cumin seeds start to splutter, add finely chopped green chillies. Stir fry for a few seconds, then add red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt.

  3. Then add whole wheat flour and cook for a minute till it gets roasted. This forms the base for the gravy. You can also use besan (chickpea flour) as a substitute for whole wheat flour.
