Main ingredients for peanut butter strawberry toast
This toast uses very simple minimal ingredients. The following are the main ingredients used for making this toast –
- Bread – Use whole grain or multigrain bread for added fiber and nutrients. Sprouted grain bread like Ezekiel bread also works great.
- Strawberries – Choose ripe, sweet strawberries for the best flavor.
- Peanut Butter – Opt for unsalted, unsweetened peanut butter with only peanuts as the ingredient.
- Walnuts – Add crushed walnuts for texture and taste. You can also use other nuts or seeds like almonds, pistachios, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds etc.
- Maple syrup or Honey – Strawberries are generally slightly tart, so you can add a little bit of honey or maple syrup on top, which complements the flavors really well. However this is optional and can be skipped.
Suggested toppings and variations
The toast is highly customizable as per your liking. You can mix and match various toppings to create your perfect peanut butter strawberry toast. Here are a few suggestions for toppings and variations that work well –
- Nut Butters – Substitute peanut butter with almond butter for a different flavor, or try cashew butter for a rich taste. Experiment with hazelnut or sunflower seed butter for variety.
- Fruits – Mix strawberries with bananas, blueberries, or raspberries for different flavors. Each adds a unique sweetness and texture.
- Seeds – Sprinkle chia seeds, flaxseeds, or pumpkin seeds for extra crunch and nutritional benefits.
- Spices – Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon over the toast for a warm, spicy kick that enhances the flavor of both the nut butter and the strawberries. A pinch of nutmeg adds a subtle depth of flavor and a hint of earthiness.
- Additional toppings – Add some shredded coconut for a tropical twist and extra texture. For a decadent touch, sprinkle a few dark chocolate chips on top. A handful of granola also add a satisfying crunch and additional flavors.

- 2 Slices Bread Multigrain or Whole wheat
- 2 Tablespoon Peanut Butter unsalted
- 4-5 Strawberries
- 6 Walnuts crushed

Step By Step Instructions for Peanut Butter Strawberry Toast Recipe
- Toast the slice of a bread. You can take any bread for this. I generally go with multigrain or whole wheat bread.
- Spread a generous layer of peanut butter evenly till the edge of the slice. I use organic unsalted peanut butter as it tastes more natural to me and doesn't overpower the toast.
- Cut the strawberries lengthwise into thin slices.
- Put the sliced strawberries on top of peanut butter to cover the whole bread.
- Now add some crushed walnuts over the strawberries to get a crunchy texture and a healthy dose of fats. You can also add almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds or any other nuts or seeds to your liking. Drizzle maple syrup or honey on the top.
- Your peanut butter strawberry toast is ready. Serve it immediately for best tastes and texture. I often serve it with maple syrup to balance the taste of strawberry incase they are not ripe yet and have some sour taste.
