Methi Recipes (Fenugreek Recipes) are an integral part of Indian cooking especially in the winters. Methi is often eaten in the form of green leafy vegetables or mixed along with wheat or maize dough to make special Indian breads like methi parathas or rotis.

Methi plant & cultivation
Methi (Fenugreek) is an annual plant in the family fabaceae with small green leaves consisting of three small obovate to oblong leaflets. Young shoots and leaves of Methi plant are harvested earlier, then the plant can grow again and thus leaves can be harvested again.
The plant is cultivated worldwide as a semiarid crop. In India, the state of Rajasthan is the largest producer of this crop.
Health benefits of methi (fenugreek)
Apart from all the goodness of green leafy vegetables, fenugreek has their own distinct health benefits and medicinal value. Fenugreek is known from ancient times for its medicinal qualities.
Methi (fenugreek) has high fibre content is rich in antioxidants. It also has a positive impact on controlling glucose metabolism and offers reno protective and cardio protective benefits.
A research from the University of Leicester revealed that eating one and a half extra servings of green leafy vegetables a day reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes by 14 percent.
